got lost and drove the Alaskan highway...

We've got some catching up to do...
So we rocked out of Whitehorse, drove the crazy part of the alaskan highway, which is the two hours south of the border, and is like driving on the worst winnipeg pothole filled street with crazy frost heave speedbumps that can get a Monte Carlo airborne at 100km. We crashed in Tok (not actually crashed, dont worry mom) which was kinda just a dinky little not really anything town, then bombed along towards Anchorage. We got lost and accidentally ended up driving the entire historic Alaskan Highway, which ends in Delta Junction. We bought certificates for it and went to grab some breaky. We hit up a cool friendly diner called Poorboys which turned out to have the best ribs ever. They beat any ribs I've ever had in every way. The new owners of the place were these real friendly folks from North Carolina who drove the Alaskan highway in January with their meat smoker. I would consider taking a trip up there just to have those ribs again.

Anyway, drove from there down towards Anchorage, pulled in at a little place on the highway called Long Rifle Lodge for some water and ended up digging the view so much we stayed a night. We had the place to ourselves, sat on the grass on the side of a mountain, smoked pipes and drank whisky and wine and beer, and just took the night off. Next morning, still singing "Whisky your the devil" we rolled the last hairy 2 hours of the drive to Anchorage. We're couchsurfing again here and spent the evening at a meet and greet with the early arrival beardos at the fantastic Midnight Sun Brewery. Alaska has more wicked breweries then any place ever. There's 4 just in Anchorage, which is pop like 250,000.

So alive and well and going strong. Loaf is snoring like a '72 buick with a broken muffler fighting a dinosaur and I'm about to hit the hay, well floor, as well. We have a beard picnic in the park tomorrow and I just realized I should take some beard pictures as you guys can't see the video yet. Rest assured, there will be more footage then anyone will ever want to watch. It's been an incredible trip so far though and the Championships look to be off the wall as well, so as always, we'll keep you posted.

cheers,
dylan
